George V. Pixley, the son of Baptist missionaries, did his elementary and secondary education at Colegio Bautista, Managua, Nicaragua. He has a Ph.D. in Biblical studies from the University of Chicago and since 1963 has been Professor of Old Testament at Evangelical Seminary of Puerto Rico.
