Archie Smith, Jr. is the James and Clarice Foster Professor of Pastoral Psychology and Counseling at the Pacific School of Religion and the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA 94709. He is the author of The Relational Self: Ethics and Therapy from a Black Church Perspective (Abingdon Press 1982).
